The Buy/Sell screen contains the form which you
use to enter in your trading orders. Through this form you can trade any player
that is traded on any of the GI markets. The trade transactions which are possible
on GI markets are:
- Buy
- Sell from Portfolio
- Buy to Cover
- Sell Short
For any trade you can select to use the closest
Market order or put a Limit price on the order.
Below is a sample of what the Buy/Sell form looks
like:
In the sample above, you would BUY
1,000 shares of Tiger Woods (ticker symbol: TIWOS) with a LIMIT price of $13
on the 2001 PGA Season Market.
If you would like to get the latest
price for Tiger Woods, you enter his ticker symbol (TIWOS) and press the "Get
Quote" link. This will bring up the price of the last executed trade for
Tiger, along with the closest bid and ask prices and the day's high and low
prices.
If you do not know the ticker symbol
of a player/stock, enter the last name in the "Stock or Last Name"
field and press the "Get Symbol" link. This will get the symbol for
the player you are looking for.
Or you can press the "All Players
Traded" link to see a list of all the players traded on the market you
selected in the Market pull-down menu.
Once you have entered in all the information
in the Buy/Sell form, you will press the Submit button. An Order Confirmation
page will appear with the details of your order.
Below is a sample of what the Order
Confirmation page looks like:
